Identification of the Addicted Patient

This one hour lecture is aimed at the physician, psychologist or psychotherapist who wants to know more about how to identify addiction in their clients or patients. Addiction is often a difficult disease to detect -- the patient does not want to reveal the problem even to those who are careing for their medical or psychological disease.Patients who are addicted hide their illness from themselves, a deep distortion of self understanding, often called denial.

The lecture runs through presenting signs and symptoms of this disease. It goes on to train the listener how to detect, unearth and gently move the patient from sickness into health.
