This presentation explores how addiction alters existing brain responses to create the brain havoc that we see as addiction. The neuroscience (current as of 2010) makes it quite clear that addiction is indeed a disease of the brain. This lecture is intended for therapists, physicians, psychologists, family members and those who suffer from an addiction illness. Although technical at times, Dr. Earley strives to correlate science with the experience of addiction--such connections make the illness real and meaninful to all.
